These scams are designed to trick people into clicking fake links or sharing personal and banking information. Never click on links or respond to suspicious messages, even if they appear to come from a trusted organisation. Always check the website address and contact details carefully before taking any action.

Protect Yourself:

- Contact the sender directly if unsure

Phishing
Phishing scams use fake emails, texts, or messages to trick you into sharing personal or banking information.
Protect Yourself:
- Never click suspicious links or attachments
- Do not share passwords, PINs, or security codes
- Check the sender’s details carefully
- Progressive Credit Union will never ask for your full password or PIN by email or text
Vishing
Vishing scams involve fraudsters calling and pretending to be from your credit union, bank, or a government agency to gain access to your personal or banking information.
Protect Yourself:
- Be cautious of unexpected calls requesting personal information
- Never share your full password, PIN, or security codes
- Do not transfer money to a “safe account”
- Hang up and contact the organisation directly using a trusted number
Progressive Credit Union will never ask for your full password or PIN over the phone.
Do not click on any links or provide any personal information. Instead, report the email or text to our fraud prevention team at info@progressivecu.ie.
Hang up and call the organisation back using a phone number from their official website or your account statement.
Use strong, unique passwords for each of your accounts, enable two-factor authentication, and regularly monitor your account statements for any unauthorised transactions.
